week 5 First Trimester

You

You will continue to experience the same kind of tiredness of body and soreness of breasts that you felt last week. You might also feel a little full on your tummy or worse, you might have the cramps. Oh, and you might find yourself sleepy most of the time too!

Not to worry, mommy, just continue taking good care of yourself and you’ll be fine.

There are some expectant moms, however, who are fortunate enough to sail through these first few weeks without experiencing any of these symptoms. Again, not to worry, mommy, you’re just one of the lucky few. Just be sure that your doctor knows what you are or are not feeling.

Your Baby

At five weeks, your baby’s heart will start to go thumpity-thump-thump. Yes, his heart will begin beating this week! If you have a transvaginal ultrasound, you will be able to differentiate your baby’s head from the tail. He’ll be about 1.5 to 2.5 mm long at this time.
