Week 15 Second Trimester

It’s important that you wear loose, comfortable clothing at this time. Keep in mind that your heart is now working on overdrive, pumping about 20 percent more blood than before you got pregnant. This figure will go up to 30 to 50 percent by the end of your pregnancy, so avoid constricting apparel.

Your Baby

While your heart works overtime, your baby’s heart is also thumping away, pumping about 25 quarts of blood a day. This figure will go up to 300 by the time he’s ready to come out. His skin is still very thin, so you can get a glimpse of his blood vessels.

He may have developed the habit of sucking his thumb.

By the end of the week, your baby will be 70 grams in weight.
